Snow King Mountain hosts the annual pond skimming event which always brings out the locals in all their colorful flair.  The young and old alike take their chances in making it across the icy waters.  The crowds cheer on the contestants while they make lap after lap.

A straight run down the hill and a balanced landing in the pond generally gets you to the other side. But that is boring, its those who take it up another notch that really do the real entertaining.  This year we had Elvis riding a snow bike, a guy on a salmon waterski, a kayaker making multiple attempts to just reach the water and inner tubers making a big splash.
